Instrument for Piano Lessons

A good quality acoustic piano that is "in-tune" with a working pedal and no sticking keys is necessary for enrolling in piano lessons. An acoustic piano is preferable, but a digital piano is acceptable if it has a damper pedal, 88 heavy weighted keys, and is set up on a music stand so that when the student is seated at the keyboard, their posture is correctly positioned with feet flat on the floor or footstool.

Makeup Lessons

Lessons may be rescheduled provided I am given adequate notice of a cancellation — preferably  24-hours advance notice. No credits or refunds are provided for missed lessons. Should students give inadequate notice, no notice, or forget a lesson, then the lesson will be forfeited except in the case of an extreme emergency. Makeup lessons may be scheduled during any month where payment has been made including the summer provided payment has been made for at least 4 summer lessons. Lessons may be rescheduled to accommodate for vacation breaks during the year, but the monthly tuition payment remains the same even if lessons are not rescheduled.

Withdrawal

30-days advance notice along with the last month's payment which includes the month's tuition and travel fee is expected when the decision has been made to quit lessons. Students are encouraged to complete the school year term and participate in the recitals before discontinuing lessons. I encourage parents to be open and transparent about any issues that may come up so we can find a solution to help the student have positive learning experiences and to avoid withdrawing abruptly.
